Shortcut Icon for BIP Report On Springboard & Navigator

Pre-Requisites:

1.      Access to BI Report

2.      Access to create and publish Sandbox.

Process:

1.      Get the report URL.

2.      Create a publishable sandbox.

3.      Create page entity and provide the report URL as Destination

4.      Publish the sandbox.

5.      Verify the results.

Step 1: Get the report URL.

Navigate to the BI report for which we need to create a shortcut on Springboard/ Navigator and Copy the URL.

Eg: https://<hostname>/analytics/saw.dll?bipublisherEntry&Action=open&itemType=.xdo&bipPath=%2FCustom%2FProcurement%2FPRC%20-%20PO%20Details%20Report.xdo&path=%2Fshared%2FCustom%2FProcurement%2FPRC%20-%20PO%20Details%20Report.xdo

 Step 2: Create a publishable sandbox.

Navigate to Sandboxes under Configuration.

Click Create Sandbox button. Enter the Sandbox name, Description.

Ensure to select Structure tool. And click on Create and Enter.

The Sandbox has been created. Go to Home.

 Step 3: Create Page Entity

Navigate to Structure under Configuration.

Click on Create Dropdown and select Create Page Entity.

Enter the following details:

1.      Name (Icon Display name)

2.      Icon (Select icon to be displayed on Springboard/ Navigator)

3.      Group (select group under which the shortcut icon to be displayed Eg: Procurement)

4.      Show on Navigator.

5.      Show on Springboard.

6.      Mobile Enabled

7.      Link Type – select Static URL

8.      Destination – Enter the copied report URL in Step 1.

Click Save and Close.

 Step 4: Publish the sandbox

Click on the Sandbox name on the top left and select Publish.

Click OK.

Click Publish.

A warning message appears. Click Continue to Publish.

 Step 5: Verify the results.

Click on Navigator and expand group that is provided in Step 3 (Eg: Procurement). An icon appears as below.

Springboard: Go to the group that is provided on Step 3. A new icon appears as below.

On Clicking this new icon, it will be redirected to the report page directly.

This completes the creation of the shortcut icon for BI report in oracle cloud. The same can be achieved with the OTBI analysis report also.
